About Party Chef

Greg Schmelz has been cooking since he was 5 years old and could barely reach the wood -burning cookstove in his mother’s farm kitchen.  His first famous dish was fried potatoes…. slightly crispy on the edges. 
 
Now in his mid-forties, Greg has changed careers to pursue his passion for the culinary arts.  Since he loves to entertain and cook for friends, it seemed natural to start a business doing just that.  The idea came up at a party over the Summer of 2018… probably after a few drinks. 
 
Already an accomplished cook, Greg attended Ivy Tech to obtain his Culinarian Certificate in 2019 as well as ServSave and ManageFirst certifications.  He’s eager to apply his newly acquired knowledge in your kitchen.
